We advise all participants to look into travel options in good time. Geiranger is approximately 2 hours from the nearest airport, Ålesund Vigra.
Ålesund Vigra is a small airport with direct connections to Amsterdam Schipol, Bergen, Trondheim, and Oslo. Note that Vigra is a small regional airport with limited facilities. There is a regular airport bus service to Ålesund and Moa (a large shopping centre) bus terminals. Ålesund is a pretty medium-sized coastal town known for its Art Deco architecture, and is popular with tourists.
Group transport to/from Geiranger from Ålesund Vigra has been arranged for 3 and 6 June. Note that the return trip is combined with the half-day excursion.We will depart Ålesund Vigra c. 16:30 on 3 June and return to Ålesund Vigra by 19:30 on 6 June (also stopping at Ålesund and Moa bus terminals in both directions). Note that the only flights departing Vigra after 19:30 on 6 June are to Bergen and Oslo, and depending on your itinerary an overnight stay in Ålesund may be necessary. Note that there may be delays en route due to ferry crossings and tunnels.
