The 4NWCN will end with a half-day excursion through the fjord landscape of western Norway on Wednesday 6 June.
Depending on the weather, and snow conditions in the high mountains, we will visit scenic geological sites close to Geiranger, before taking a fjord cruise through the Geirangerfjord to Hellesylt (~1 hour). From Hellesylt, stopping at various key locations along the route as time allows, we will drive to Sykkylven, take the local ferry from Ørsneset to Magerholm. The excursion will end at Ålesund Vigra airport, with drop-off points at Moa and Ålesund bus terminals.

The excursion will be guided by Prof Atle Nesje, together with Dr Henriette Linge (4NWCN Organising Committee Leader), and Prof John Inge Svendsen. All have conducted extensive fieldwork in the surrounding region for many years.
We will depart Hotel Union c. 12:30, arriving at Ålesund Vigra airport by c. 19:30 at the latest. Please confirm participation in the excursion during registration.
